Hi, today I upgraded my Beam 1 to a Beam 2. I have two One surround speakers and a mini sub.I’m using a 2022 LG Oled with earc, I own, Switch, PS5, Xbox series X and Apple tv. Now, since upgrading I’m totally lost what my settings for each should be :( Currently with switch I’m getting Multichannel PCM 5.1. Which is what I should be getting. But on PS5 I set my settings to Dolby Atmos but the sonos app tells me that the audio is multichannel PCM 7.1. Even when using a Atmos game. Apple TVis also showing as multichannel PCM 7.1 Is that the correct audio that I should be getting as my system is only 5.1? Why 7.1 and not dolby? On Xbox, I have set it to Dolby atmos and with that it shows as Atmos in the app. But then I read that atmos on Series X has a delay. So, I'm lost as to what my best settings should be. Can someone here please be kind enough to what the best TV/console settings are for each device? I’ve done a search but there does not seem to be any PS5 settings suggested after it
Hello, I’ve never used the S1 app, but I’m looking into buying a ZP90. Can I stream Apple and Amazon music on S1? Just looking at getting an audio signal into my old hifi system. It has an optical input, but not coaxial, so I don’t want to get a Port. Thanks
HiI've seen similar problems here but nothing exact, so hoping someone can help please.I have a Beam connected to my Samsung TV via HDMI ARC and two rear Sonos 1 as surrounds.Everything is fine except on terrestrial TV programs and their apps - so live TV for example on BBC, ITV and on iPlayer and ITV app - where the vocals come out distorted on the rear speakers. The speech is fine on the Beam but on the rears any background music is ok but vocals are crackly. The weird thing is on other apps like Netflix, the vocals just come out of Beam as expected and not on rears. I’m assuming it’s an encoding issue on terrestrial but it’s driving me mad! Any thoughts please? There’s not much I can do on TV sound settings except switch between PCM and Dolby Digital - both make no difference though. thanks
As far as I am informed it is still not possible to use two era 300’ s as a stereo pair when listening to music when these two era 300’s are setup in a surround setting together with an arc and a sub gen 3.If you want to use them as stereo pair, everything needs to be installed from the start? And if I want to switch back to home cinema setup, I need to install them once more? Why is it not possible to switch between cinema setup and stereo setup in the Sonos appIt would be great when I can youse the 2 Era 300’s for listening to music or cinema with a simple press of a button. Will there be an update to let this work in the future ??
Hello - hopefully a straightforward question. Is the ZP90 compatible with AirPlay 2? The reason I’m looking at one of these is to stream audio to my HiFi as it has both optical and coaxial audio out, where the Port is limited to coaxial only. Thank you
Sound goes on & off this started happening prior to an update of about a week ago. Nothing has changed with location of the Beam & SL Roam
We would like to make it as easy as possible for guests to use the Sonos amp and speakers in their rooms to stream audio from their phones. The best solution we’ve seen for this in other rental properties is VSSL, where the user simply connects to a bluetooth receiver with the corresponding room name and voila - their iphone audio is streaming through the in-wall / in ceiling speakers. Has anyone attempted to provide an alternate audio source for the TV audio in from their sonos amps, so that alternate sources can be used as the “TV Autoplay” feature in a local room, especially when no TV exists in that room?
There is a seemingly related but frozen topic on this from a decade ago. Surprising this is still happening to people. This on a Macbook Pro M1 (16-inch, 2021), running Sonoma 14.4.1 (23E224)I have a shared folder containing all my music which is not an Apple Music / iTunes library. It has read access for everyone.I set in Privacy & Security > Full Disc Access: added Sonos and restarted it.It isn’t connecting, here is the error dialog:I’m not sure what username/password it’s complaining about. I’m giving it the admin credentials.
Is anybody else bothered by the fact after paying a pretty expensive price for these speakers you then have to pay again to some subscription music service just to listen to music? Seems like for how much each one of these speakers cost (play 5) there should be some way to to actually use the speakers without having to pay for monthly fee.
Hello! Today, I upgraded my Beam to gen 2. My TV is 2022 LG oled. This means that i can now get surround sound on my switch. Great! Except, that I use PS5 and switch in the same HDMI port with a switcher, because I’m out of ports. I read that to get surround audio on my switch I set digital sound output on my TV to PCM and HDMI input audio format to PCM. My question is, will these same settings give me surround on PS5 or do I have to change the TV’s settings each time I change console? Obv, not the end of the world but it would be nice if I didn’t have to switch. Tagging in @GuitarSuperstar and anyone else who is kind enough to help me!
I got my first Sonos today and when setting it up i I am having some problems with adding Google Assistant. I’m following the guide by Sonos, and when I’m on the page where you add music services or voice assistant, the only options to choose from under ”voice” is Alexa or Sonos voice control.Am i doing something wrong? I’ve looked trough the entire Sonos app, Google assistant and home app and have been googling for an hour now.
