Question

Can I use our Sonos speakers as an internal PA system?

We have four Sonos base units at work for streaming music, however I would like to use the speakers as a PA system for a work's quiz - ideally with no expense. I have a microphone that I can plug into an iPhone, so an app would be handy. All suggestions welcome!

I haven't used them yet, but there are two apps that are supposed to do this: Intercom for Sonos ($4.99) and Sonos Voice ($1.99).
Thank you for your quick reply! I'll have a look at them both and give them a shot tomorrow morning when there's no one in. I'll let you know how I get on.

I have Intercom. It does what it sets out to do. But better suited to ‘one off’ announcements (e.g. Dinner’s ready!) than an interactive PA address. You have to pre record and send to the player to broadcast and there is a bit of a lag. It is not real time like a walkie talkie.
