I was wondering if anyone had any information about the LOVE Turntable. It's a current Kickstarter Project which is really taking off. I have backed it as it looks very smart and a unique take at a turntable. Wondering if there are any thoughts for / against?
The advert for it also states that it will be picked up as an input on the Sonos app without any adapters etc. Mostly, i'm just looking to find out if this is 100% accurate and going go happen and whether anyone at Sonos could confirm? I'd hate to buy it and find that it doesn't work with anything I have...

I'd hate to buy it and find that it doesn't work with anything I have...
Doesn't backing it mean you have to buy it? Or lose whatever you have paid to back it?!
Unless you have a lot of records, my take is that this is just an expensive gimmick you will soon tire of, even if it works.

Saw that they said it would connect to Sonos via Wifi. Wonder how that works. Do they create a 'stream' that you subscribe to? Or would Sonos be creating it's own "Line-in" feature via wifi? Not sure I understand.

Line level output option, so just needs a Connect for Sonos. High quality turntables from the 70s and 80s are very easy to find on Craigslist, though. An old Technics, Dual, ELAC or the like, with a bit of cleaning and lube, will last for years. My Empire 398 is from Craigslist. It will run basically forever, with a new belt, stylus and some spindle oil every couple of years.

IMO, what is needed is a turntable that will look as retro as possible - Wheel does not - but will play wirelessly with Sonos. That opens up the use of 1 units as well, as speakers with no wires/Connect investment. But that still retains the needed looks and rituals associated with vinyl.
